Lord, on this memorial of the beheading of John the Baptist, we reflect on his courage that feared no power nor injustice, and on his faithfulness to You unto martyrdom
Grant us, O God, the boldness to proclaim the truth with love, the steadfastness to live our faith with sincerity, and the humility to carry our daily cross
As You made John a light to prepare Your way, make our lives a living witness to Your Kingdom, that we may share in the eternal glory of Your saints
