Deep Contemplative Prayer


In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen



O Lord Jesus Christ, Eternal Word of the Father, You who know the depths of every soul and read what human hearts conceal, I stand before You today with a heart longing to become silent so that it may listen, and with a soul yearning to encounter You



My Lord, how many times have I searched for You in the noise of life, forgetting that You were waiting for me in the depths of my own heart



How many times have I filled the air with words, when all I truly needed was a moment of silence in which to stand before Your presence



Teach me, Jesus, to become silent, not because words have failed me, but because my heart has discovered that Your presence is deeper than every word



My Lord, speak to the depths of my soul, where no one can hear You but me


Touch the wounds for which I have never found words, and wipe away the tears no one has ever seen



I do not wish to be someone who merely knows many things about You


I want to be someone who truly knows You, walks with You, lives with You, and dwells in Your love



Make my silence a prayer, my contemplation an act of worship, and my thoughts offerings lifted up to You



When my thoughts become troubled, be my peace


When life exhausts me, be my strength


When my heart loses its way, be my guide



Jesus, do not allow me to journey through this life without discovering the beauty of Your presence in its smallest details


Teach me to recognize You in the face of the weary, to touch You through the hand of the needy, and to serve You in those who are waiting for love or a comforting word



My Lord, I want my heart to become a dwelling place where You may rest, and my life to become an altar upon which I offer everything I possess



love, faithfulness, and devotion.



And when the voice of the world grows quiet around me, may I hear Your voice within my soul, reminding me that I am never alone, and that Your hand will never abandon me



Jesus, enter the silence of my heart and transform it into an everlasting encounter with You



For nothing is more beautiful than a soul becoming silent before You, only to discover that You are speaking to it with a love that never ends



I love You, my Lord, not because I understand all Your ways, but because I trust Your Heart



My heart belongs to You


My life belongs to You 


Everything I am belongs to You. Amen
