Lord Jesus, we reflect upon the witness of Your servant, Saint Stephen, who did not fear death, but faced the stones with eyes fixed on heaven
Teach us, as You taught him, to fearlessly proclaim the truth, to forgive those who harm us, and to love even those who reject us
Make our hearts like Saint Stephen's : filled with Your Spirit, bold in declaring Your love, and humble in offering our lives for Your sake
Through the intercession of the first martyr, make us light in the midst of darkness, a voice of truth among the noise, and fertile ground for eternal life
