My beloved Jesus, I stand before You with a humble and poor heart, and I confess that without You, I can do nothing
My Lord, purify my heart from every form of pride
Take away from me every false greatness and every desire to rise above others
Never let me forget that everything I have comes from You, and that every success, every gift, and every blessing is a gift from Your hands
Jesus, You are the Great One who emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and becoming obedient even unto death, the death of the Cross
Teach me to be humble like You, to serve rather than demand to be served, and to love rather than seek the praise of others
And Mary, Mother of God, humble handmaid of the Lord, teach me to say with you
Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord
and to place my whole life into His hands
Lord, when my heart becomes proud, bring me back to You
When I seek my own glory, remind me of Your Cross
When I forget that I belong to You, bring me back into Your presence
Take all pride away from me, and plant within me a humble heart, so that I may see You in everything, serve You in every person, and live for the glory of Your name
Amen.
