Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you on the feast of Saint Mark the evangelist, whom you made a voice of the gospel and a witness to the power of your resurrection


Kindle in us the fire of your word, that we may not keep the Gospel for ourselves, but bear it as light to the world


Grant us, o Lord, the boldness of mark in preaching, his faithfulness in witness, and his steadfastness in trial


May our words be seasoned with grace, our works filled with love, and our lives become a living gospel read by all


Expand the borders of your kingdom within us, that we may proclaim you by our lives before our lips, and carry your name with apostolic joy


Through the intercession of Saint Mark, strengthen your church in truth and awaken in us the spirit of mission
