MY BELOVED Jesus, On the feast of Your holy martyrs, Sergius and Bacchus, I stand before You with a humble heart and contemplate their faithfulness to You



Their faith was not merely words they spoke, but a covenant they lived with their whole being



My Lord, make my faith a trust that never changes, and my love for You a covenant that never breaks


Make my heart an altarthat never ceases to offer itself to You



Teach me to remain faithful to You in easy days and difficult ones, in joy and in sorrow, in strength and in weakness


Never allow me to make my circumstances an excuse to turn away from You.


Jesus, when my faith grows weak, be my steadfastness


When I am afraid, be my courage


When I grow weary, be my strength


And when storms surround me, be my refuge and my peace


My Lord, do not allow me to offer You a faith that exists only on my lips


Instead, make my entire life a witness to You



Make me faithful in secret as I am in public, honest with You when no one sees me, and loving toward Youwhen I find no comfort except in You


Holy Sergius and Bacchus, you who made your faith a covenant and your love a testimony, pray for me, that I may never betray the love to which Christ has called me


Ask Him to grant me a steadfast heart, a heart not stolen by fear, not changed by trials, and not drawn away by worldly interests, but always clinging to Jesus alone


My Lord, my faith is a trust You have placed within my heart, and my love for You is a covenant, I desire to remain faithful to


So take my whole heart, take my whole life, and make me Yours— Yours alone— every day and every hour, until I meet You face to face
