Jesus, my Teacher of Love, I stand before You with a humble heart, and I ask You to make me Your disciple, not only in words, but through my whole life



Lord, teach me to love You as John the Beloved loved You, and to remain close to Your heart, in joy and in hardship, in strength and in weakness, in seasons of abundance and in seasons of waiting


Saint John the Beloved, you who knew the heart of Christ and remained faithful to His love, pray for me, that I may learn to rest my head upon the heart of Christ and listen to His voice before I speak my own words


Teach me to love without expecting anything in return, to forgive without conditions, to serve without seeking praise, to rejoice in the joy of my brothers and sisters, to share in their sorrows, and to see in every person a beloved child of God


Lord, when my love becomes self-seeking, purify it


When pride enters my heart, humble me with Your humility


When I seek my own glory, remind me of Your glory


When I judge my brother or sister, give me a merciful heart


Jesus, I do not want to be Your disciple in name only, but I want Your love to be visible in my words, in my thoughts, in my actions, and in the way I treat everyone I meet


Lord of Love, make me a disciple who remains close to You


Make my heart a dwelling place for Your love, so that when someone sees me, they may not see my glory, but may see You


Through the intercession of Saint John the Beloved, keep me rooted in Your love, make me faithful to Your heart, and help me remain Yours, serve my brothers and sisters, and live for the glory of Your name
