Lord, in this season of lent, I stand before you with a broken heart and a humble spirit


I do not wish to fast only from food, but to fast from sin, from judgment, from hardness of heart


Purify my heart as gold is refined in fire, and plant within me a thirst for your word and a hunger for Your presence


Teach me to love in secret, to give with joy, and to forgive from the heart


May my fasting become a path to Resurrection, and my wounds a door to Your grace, so that i may live a new life with You
