O Jesus, Son of the living God, Good Shepherd of souls, I stand before You with a humble heart and lift my prayer to You


Let me hear Your life-giving voice


Call me by my name, as a shepherd knows his sheep and calls them, and they follow him


My Lord, how many times has Your voice passed beside me while I was lost in the noise of the world


How many times have You called me to repentance, and yet I have postponed my return to You


Have mercy on my weakness


Open my ears to Your Word and revive my heart through Your grace, so that I may never remain a stranger to You, but become a child who recognizes his Father's voice and finds rest in the embrace of His love


Jesus, call me by my name when my soul grows weary, when my steps lose their way, and when the trials of life overwhelm me


Call me by my name when I feel far from You


Remind me that I am never forgotten by You, and that Your love continues to seek me until I find my way back to Your heart



Lord, teach me to hear Your voice in Your Word, to recognize You in the poor and the suffering, and to see You in every call to love and forgive


Do not let me follow voices that lead me away from You 


Establish my steps on the path of truth, and make my heart faithful to Your voice, so that even when I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me



Jesus, You are the Resurrection and the Life


Whoever hears Your Word and believes in You passes from death to life


Grant me the grace to die to sin each day and rise with You into a new life


Teach me to repent before the time of repentance passes, and to wash my heart with tears of contrition and with Your holy love


And when the hour comes for me to depart from this life, do not let me tremble before the unknown


Be the peace of my soul and the hope of my heart


Call me by my name, O Lord, so that I may recognize Your voice and follow You into Your eternal dwelling, where there will be no more tears, no more pain, and no more separation, but everlasting communion with You in the Kingdom of Your love


Jesus, do not let me remain outside Your fold


Keep me within it


Carry me upon Your shoulders when the journey becomes too difficult


Bring me back when I stray, and draw me close to Your heart when the sorrows of life wound me



May Your voice be my life, Your Word my path, Your love my strength, and Your Kingdom my destination, so that I may remain faithful to You on earth and rejoice in Your presence for all eternity


Jesus, my Good Shepherd, call me by my name today and every day


And at the hour of my passing, open the gates of life to me and take me by the hand into Your Kingdom
